The 9th of June marks World Accreditation Day – a day that promotes the value of safety, quality and sustainability in the construction industry. This global initiative was jointly founded by the International Accreditation Forum (IAF) and the International Laboratory Accreditation Cooperation (ILAC) and, this year, focuses on how accreditation can support workers in the construction industry, which ranges from; contractors, subcontractors, manufacturers, designers, architects and civil engineers. According to IAF and ILAC: “Accreditation determines the technical competence, integrity and impartiality of organisations providing conformity assessment services such as testing, calibration, certification, and inspection based on international standards.”
