Footage of Dumfries and Galloway Royal Infirmary

Take a walk around Dumfries and Galloway Royal Infirmary!

The new Dumfries and Galloway Royal Infirmary has recently experienced a successful handover, following completion on schedule and within budget. High Wood Health’s construction partner, Laing O’Rourke were the builders assigned to this construction and recently handed the keys of the establishment over to NHS Dumfries and Galloway. The £212 million build will host over 300 en-suite bedrooms, as well as, floor to ceiling windows and an integrated nurse calling system. With the previous hospital being build in 1975, a revamp was much needed and will make a great difference to the comfort of the employees and patients at the hospital.

Cleartech were engaged by Laing O’Rourke and Crown House Technologies to carry out HVAC commissioning and water treatment on the Dumfries & Galloway Royal Infirmary. We also carried out a construction phase Legionella risk assessment to ensure that the water systems were not in danger of being contaminated with Legionella bacteria. Further details on our involvement can be found in our case studies section.

Our Managing Director, Jim McGuigan, recently enjoyed a site walk around the hospital, with the team at Laing O’Rourke. The upcoming weeks will see the building being fully equipped and staff orientations taking place, before patients begin to move over in December. Until then, a digital tour of the new facility is available below!

The Cleartech team are proud to have played a part in this excellent project, which will make a much-needed addition to the health care industry in Dumfries & Galloway. Congratulations to our engineers, as well as, the teams at Laing O’Rourke, Crown House Technologies and all others involved.
