Working Towards a Sustainable Future

Our team attended the Supply Chain Sustainability School event in Glasgow in February 2017, which was hosted at the Grand Central Hotel as we are actively working towards a sustainable future.

The day was attended by numerous employees from the business sector, ranging from apprentices to managing directors, and allowed each to give their view on the challenges their companies face when it comes to the sustainable future.

The main speaker of the day was Ian Heptonstall, the business director of Action Sustainability, who provided advice and knowledge on resource efficiency, circular economy, reducing emissions and producing zero waste as a company. With clients, stakeholders and government legislation all leaning towards more sustainable practices, it is important for the supply chain to market for a greener and more ethical future. Cleartech’s Approach

As members of the school, Cleartech use the resources provided to ensure that our company is running as efficiently as possible and heading towards a sustainable future, as a business. We know that sustainability is the key to business longevity and have put this idea in to practice by investing our time and knowledge in to younger employees through apprenticeships and graduate placements. We also work on projects which produce positive impacts on the environment, for example, Cleartech have provided HVAC commissioning and water treatment works on district heating systems – which, have been proven to reduce carbon emissions and lower the heating and hot water costs for the community members that are connected. Cleartech will continue to improve their sustainability and will use the resources and advice, provided by the school, in order to do so.
