About the Role:
We are seeking a Water Hygiene Technician based in Dumfries & Galloway to support our ongoing Legionella prevention activities, particularly for our Dumfries & Galloway Council contract. This role also involves working with housing associations, charities, hotels, and care homes, ensuring compliance with water hygiene regulations.
This is a field-based role, requiring occasional travel across Scotland and England. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing their own schedule and ensuring the timely completion of all water hygiene tasks at designated sites.
What you’ll be doing:
- Conduct Legionella risk management tasks, including temperature monitoring, flushing, descaling, and sampling.
- Complete monthly compliance activities across multiple client sites, ensuring all work is documented correctly.
- Support the Dumfries & Galloway Council contract by maintaining water hygiene compliance in public buildings.
- Service additional clients in housing associations, charities, hospitality, and care sectors.
- Travel to sites across Scotland and occasionally England, working independently and as part of a team to complete assigned tasks.
- Identify non-compliances or required remedial actions and escalate findings where necessary.
- Ensure health & safety procedures and water hygiene regulations are followed at all times.
What we’re looking for:
- Full UK Driving Licence
- CSCS Card is desired
- Experience in water hygiene or Legionella compliance
- Strong communication and report-writing skills
- Ability to work independently and manage site-based tasks
