Cleartech Group Ltd were engaged by McGill to complete the HVAC commissioning and water treatment at the new Kelvinhaugh student accommodation, a £33m modular residence which is set to welcome students starting University this September. The build consists of 598 bedrooms, as well as, added perks such as a slide between floors (see pictured below) and a festival area, which includes a caravan. Our engineers worked relentlessly, in order to ensure that their works were completed in time for the new student intake. Cleartech are proud to be a part of such an innovative build, which will provide a modern environment for students in the West End of Glasgow.
Project Overview
Scope of Works:
- Clean and chlorinate new installation hot and cold water service
- Potable water samples taken and test at UKAS lab
- Full pre-commission chemical clean, static flushing, biocide wash and dynamic flushing
- Dosing of corrosion inhibitor
- Water and ventilation balancing
- Dynamic back flushing of newly fitted HIU units
Cleartech’s Approach
Our scope of works included a domestic water services chlorination, which consists of; cleaning and chlorinating new installation hot and cold water services to BS8558 Specification. We also took potable water samples which were then tested at a UKAS accredited laboratory and results were issued to our client. Our team of dedicated engineers carried out a full pre-commission chemical, static flushing, biocide wash, dynamic flushing and dosing of corrosion inhibitor. This was completed fully in accordance with BSRIA BG 29/2012 Pre-commissioning Cleaning of Pipework Systems.
Our HVAC commissioning services included carrying out water and ventilation balancing of LTHW, which included; pumps, commissioning stations and DPCV’s. All of our works were completed as per C.I.B.S.E code ‘A’ and ‘W’, complete with final report.
