Cleartech Group Ltd were engaged by Crown House Technologies to carry out HVAC commissioning and water treatment services for ARCHER. ARCHER, formally known as the Advanced Computer Facility (AFC) is a strategic facility of the University of Edinburgh, designed to house large-scale computers in a secure, purpose-build environment.

Scope of Works:
- Pre-commission chemical clean of the chilled and condenser water systems
- Dosing of 40,000 litres of Mono Ethylene Glycol
- Balancing of water systems
- HVAC commissioning
Cleartech’s Approach
Cleartech were engaged by Crown House Technologies to carry out the HVAC Commissioning and Water Balancing to comply with current CIBSE Codes. Crown House Technologies were fully responsible as principal contractor for the design, construction and M&E services for the supercomputer facility to house the UK’s primary research supercomputers, codenamed; HECToR and ARCHER. Our scope of works also included the pre commission chemical cleaning and dosing of 40,000 litres of Mono Ethylene glycol into the chilled and condenser water systems. This was carried out using industrial tankers and all within tight programme constraints.
