Cleartech Group Ltd were engaged by Alba Facilities services to carry out all Legionella compliance works at the Tanfield office block in Edinburgh. The property comprises a total of 190,972ft (17,742 sq m) of high quality office accommodation.
Scope of Works:
- Legionella monitoring and water sampling
- Water temperature checks and monitoring
- Shower head disinfections
- Hot and cold water system disinfection works to BS8558 and L8 ACOP
- Chlorination and disinfection of cold water storage tank
- Cleaning and disinfection of calorifiers and onsite sampling
Working in partnership with Alba Facilities Services, Cleartech has looked after the legionella compliance and water hygiene monitoring at Tanfield, Edinburgh since 2012. We engage directly with the site manager in the planning and carrying out of all legionella compliance tasks, and monthly, quarterly and yearly site visits. Any high risk situations, are communicated directly to the site manager. Cleartech’s water hygiene engineers attend site on a monthly basis to test hot and cold water temperatures as well as the temperatures of flow and return at calorifiers. We clean, descale and disinfect all shower heads and hoses on a quarterly basis and issue a certificate of disinfection on the day. Legionella sampling is carried out quarterly with all samples being tested at an independent UKAS laboratory. All temperatures, site visits, water sample results and disinfections are recorded in a log book which is kept on site.
Arrangements have been made between Cleartech and site managers at Tanfield for the yearly chlorination and disinfection of the cold water storage tank and entire down services, to be carried out during the night allowing the isolation of the pumps and preventing any disruption to water services. We always ensure job is complete with water supply back up and running for the building opening in the morning. Cleartech ensures clients are aware of, and in total compliance with all current legislation with any recommendations we make for remedial and rectification works, being backed up with photographs/evidence where possible.
