Service: Legionella Risk Assessment, HVAC Commissioning & Water Treatment
Project: SSE Orkney Depot
Cleartech Group Ltd were engaged by SSE to carry out a Legionella risk assessment, HVAC commissioning and water treatment at an SSE Power Station Depot in Orkney, Scotland. Continuous communication and significant planning between our head office in East Kilbride, our engineers, the mechanical engineer at SSE, as well as, the Orkney site team were pivotal in the successful completion of the risk assessment, ventilation commissioning and chlorination works. Having completed our services, we received positive feedback from the SSE team, regarding the planning and effort that went in to the project, as well as the service that our engineers provided on site.
“Cleartech arrived on site on schedule and completed their works as per programme given. Excellent service all round.”
Scope of Works:
- Legionella Risk Assessment
- Potable water samples taken and tested at UKAS lab
- Injection disinfection of new installation hot and cold water services
- Ventilation balancing of systems as given in client enquiry
Our scope of works included an injection disinfection of new installation hot and cold water services, completed to BS8558 specification. Our engineers then took potable water samples, which were then tested at a UKAS accredited laboratory.
Our HVAC commissioning services included carrying out the ventilation balancing of Ex Fans and Ex Grilles, as set out in the project specifications. All works were completed as per C.I.B.S.E code ‘A’.
The Legionella risk assessment was carried out as per all current L8 ACOP regulations and was completed in order to determine the risk of Legionella bacteria growing in the water systems within the depot. The risk assessment document includes; site survey data and asset register, observations with photographic evidence, a risk rating, recommendations to reduce the risk, a schematic drawing of the water system and a Legionella monitoring regime.
As the only HVAC commissioning company in Scotland that are members of the Legionella Control Association, Cleartech are able to provide HVAC commissioning, water treatment and a Legionella risk assessment as a package, which in turn reduces the supply chain, saves time and allows communication between client and subcontractor to run more efficiently. We employ a team of highly qualified engineers and risk assessors that will cater each project to the needs set out by you, the client.
