Service: HVAC Commissioning & Water Treatment
Project: Glasgow Film Theatre
Client: James Frew
Cleartech were engaged by James Frew to carry out the HVAC commissioning and water treatment works at the Glasgow Film Theatre. The theatre underwent its first phase of renovations in 2013, which involved a cafe bar being turned into a new cinema for 60 people and opening up a new box office alongside a new front-door area. The GFT undertook the second phase of the extensive refurbishment project in 2016, which is when Cleartech became involved.
Scope of Works:
- Cleaning & sterilisation of newly installed DWS & DHWS
- Balancing of all ventilation systems
Cleartech’s team of experienced water treatment engineers carried out the chlorination of the newly installed Domestic Water Services in accordance with BS 8558 Specification and fully comply with ACOP. Water samples were also taken at this site and tested at a UKAS accredited laboratory in order to detect any pathogens, such as Legionella, in the water supply. Cleartech invest considerable time, effort and resources on training and building on the expertise of our engineers. As the only HVAC commissioning and water treatment company in Scotland that are members of the Legionella Control Association, our engineers provide services in conjunction with the Code of Conduct set out by the LCA.
Our HVAC Commissioning works included carrying out ventilation balancing of the newly installed AHU systems, Extract Fans and Secondary Ventilation systems provided by FCUs all as per C.I.B.S.E code ‘A’ complete with final report. As always, our aim is to have our reports submitted promptly in order to ensure a clean handover. In this instance, we were able to submit our reports the day after all commissioning works were complete.
